Agriculture
(or another project such as Chácaras or Sítios)
The elevated areas in the center of Caúna are ideal for agricultural production. Agroforests, groups of trees, paths, and horse pastures enliven the beautiful landscape. This area is fairly flat, which makes it easier to cultivate.
This part of the farm undulates in gentle hills from the existing neighborhoods of Barra de Santo Antônio to the Atlantic Forest and from the villas above the river to the Maceió – Recife connecting road.
The 428,154 m² of healthy soil allow for the development of various agricultural, tourist and construction projects.
Here lies the agroforestry systems of Caúna. They encircle the area, supplemented by reforestation efforts. They follow the United Nations’ vision for future agriculture. Agroforestry systems mark the move away from monocultures and towards polycultures. These polycultures are small-scale and mutually protective. They are mostly cultivated manually, thus creating many jobs.
This proposal presents an alternative to option “O – 08 Sítios”. A sustainable agricultural use would continue our previous work. This area could provide food for the surrounding hotels, as well as serve as an extended recreational area for them.
